Radical Love as the Weapon of War

What does it truly mean to love God? The answer might surprise us, because according to 1 John 4:11-12 and 20-21, the proof of our love for a God we cannot see is found in how we treat the people standing right in front of us. This message takes us deep into the Greek word behind the phrase 'we ought to love one another,' revealing that it is not a gentle suggestion but a debt we owe. God loved us first and paid a bill we could never repay, so the only response that makes sense is to turn around and pay that love forward to every person we encounter. The Holy Spirit is not a weekend guest in our lives. He came with a key, and He stays, and the visible sign of His presence is the love we show each other. If we claim to love a God we have never seen while turning our backs on the brother or sister we see every day, scripture calls that what it is: a contradiction. This message challenges us to examine not just our words but our gut-level responses when someone around us is in need, and to ask ourselves whether the love we profess is real enough to show up in the hard moments.
