Standing as Ambassadors

Jun 28, 2026    Pastor Deon M. Hairston

This powerful message calls us to be people who understand the times we're living in, just like the sons of Issachar in 1 Chronicles 12:32, who had 'understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do.' We're challenged to confront one of the loudest lies of our age: the lie of false peace. Drawing from Jeremiah 6:14, we see how religious leaders cried 'peace, peace' when there was no peace, putting bandages on wounds they refused to clean. This speaks directly to our lives today—in our marriages, our finances, our souls, and our nation. We cannot experience true healing until we honestly name our wounds before God. The message then moves us through a transformative journey: understanding the times, standing in truth by girding ourselves with the armor of God from Ephesians 6, being transformed through the renewing of our minds as Romans 12:2 instructs, and finally going out as ambassadors for Christ, carrying the word of reconciliation. This isn't a call to fight with the world's weapons of rage or to return lie for lie, but to stand in righteousness, letting truth shine through transformed lives. When we abide in God's word and presence, we receive the fruit of the Spirit and become agents of genuine reconciliation in a broken world.
